I consider myself as a newbie in online money making attempts. I have tried some methods, which I learned from internet itself. internet is a great resource for those who wish to know how to make money online. The world of internet has made it possible to generate many ways to generate passive online money.

The reason why we call it passive is that most of the times the money generated is not from your active involvement with the work. You do a certain amount of effort and it brings you money over and over again. Sounds like unrealistic? For me too this sounded unrealistic and unreasonable some five years before. The more the number of visitors, the higher the chances of people click on ads and buy things. Your job is to compel the visitors to click on the ads. I have seen some sites begging visitors to click on the ads. Recently I saw a Youtube video on which the video publisher begs viewers to click on the ads displayed. Note that this is against the rules. Ad providers have their program policies, that prohibits such kind of mischievous acts.

Creating content is the way to attract more visitors to the site. Visitors will do the rest. It is their requirement to buy the things for which they search and come to your site. Your job is to provide them interesting content. Websites that affiliate advertisements need content. Text content seems to attract more visitors. Online content types can also be images, downloads, software, video and various other applications and forms of multimedia. Website owners have two options to generate content, which we have discussed in some of the earlier posts. They can create the content by themselves or by subcontracting the content out to other content creators.

Some website prefer to share a portion of the earnings they get with the content creators. There are some websites prefer to pay a fixed amount to content creators. These are only some of the ways to generate online income. There are many other ways. We should not get desperate in our search for online money. It is like a treasure. Hello friends, this is the Part II of "What a blog can do for you?"

In Part I we saw some personal advantages of writing for own blog. I am not going to pursue you to leave your habit of writing for another blogs or sites and start your own blog. I just want share with you my views, which may need corrections and suggestions from you. Please do it through comments.

I understand that both Writing in your own blog and in other sites have their own advantages as well as disadvantages. With your own blog, you have plenty of freedom such as what you want to write, how lengthy or short you want to write , what picture or video you want to use to spruce up your blog etc. If you write for other sites you may need to follow the rules and regulations of a site administrator, which may not be always as per your imagination. Mostly if you fail to stick to the site's rules, chances are high that it may result in deletion of your articles. So your personal blogs have advantage when it comes to freedom. The benefit of writing own blog is that one can write according to one's wishes and abilities. If you have enough knowledge about a particular subject, you can write good articles on that subject but you may not be so successful in writing on other subjects. So if you do not have your own blog, then you have to accept the subjects which may not be of your choice. So the quality of writing may not be maintained if you are writing for others. In such situation your work will not get the recognition.

Now let us look into the other side of blog' Make money out of your blogs. When it comes to earning, your own blog may not be that beneficial as you thought initially. You need to promote your site /website all alone, which is tiring and a continuous time taking process. You need to learn a lot of things about Search Engine Optimization techniques. Now a days are there are many sites from where you can learn Search Engine Optimization techniques free of cost.  So naturally it requires different skills and knowledge. So if one wants to earn through blog then one has to think of marketing it effectively.On the other hand, when you are writing for some other sites, there are whole bunch of experts to promote that site and you get paid for the page impression or a certain percentage of ad revenue that your articles generate for that site. If you are writing for another site, you may get writing tasks different from your skills and interests. It pushes you to learn new things in life. If you continue write about your own interests, you may miss many of other areas of knowledge, which if you put a little effort could be an enjoyable experience in learning and writing.

Thus an own blog may be for those who are exceptionally good at marketing,writing and other computer related activities, if your prime objective is making some money from blogging. So, your purpose with a blog is important to decide whether you need to go for an own blog or just write and earn money in other blogs/sites. For most people, the tendency would be to earn some bucks from what you do. Writing for other sites is a short term option to earn money from your online activities.

The bad thing with writing for other sites is that your writing may be posted in multiple sites by the site owners without your permission. You might have put your energy in researching the internet and books to write an article. You can see your well researched articles all over the internet without your name on it. For many of you this may be annoying and frustrating because you do not get the proper recognition for your hard work. We need to accept the fact that this is the way those sites works and make money and share the revenue with you. You have to decide between two options;

• To write for other sites and remain free from all worries of updating the blog and marketing it to earn regularly.
• To write your own blog and earn reputation. You make money at a later stage as you grow if you wish.

An own blog gives you passive income, but may not be good for those looking desperately to make money from online activities. If your prime objective is to make money, then you need to develop skills required to market your blogs, while updating your blogs regularly with quality content.

What a blog can do for you?

Part I 

Why writing for your own blog is better than writing for somebody else's? I have my own reasons why writing in my own blog is far better than writing in other people's blogs and websites. I say own blog is better from my own experience in blogging.

I started blogging on May 2008, five years before. My first blog was about my living experiences in Japan, now almost inactive except when I take care to reply to the comments. My initial intention to start blogging was to make money. My inspiration to learn more about blogging was after reading from a blog that by blogging people make big money. I got mad to master blogging and dreamed dollars flowing to my bank account! Those were the days I walked with my head up, mind full of dreams of what to buy and where to go for vacation with family, because that was the way bloggers did. Bloggers would just sit at home on their pajamas and the money will flow to their bank account! What a wonderful life waiting for me!

I spent all possible hours reading and experimenting with blogs. I carved out time from comfortable sleeping to make more time to learn blogging and took laptop even to toilet. I was restless till I got first visitor to the blog and went more crazy to get many visitors. This may be the case with all bloggers: STRUGGLE. Without struggle very few things comes out in our life. I was determined to make money online, but I could not dedicate in blogging in between when it started interfering with my personal life. I had to find a balance between blogging and personal life. I made some money by displaying google adsense advertisements and wished if I could make more money if all visitors to blog were kind enough to click on them. My priority from making money from blogging changed when more and more visitors started interacting with me through blog comments. That blog made me to assume more responsibility over a period of two years.

An own blog gives your own space in the world to put yourself and project yourself the way you wish. You do not need to acquire all the characteristics of that projected personality before you do so. This is not the case in the real world. You project yourself and this self image projection will drive you to acquire the required characteristics one by one. What a wonderful way of personality development, isn't it? So, blogging gives you a platform for personality development. I will now disagree to the idea that blogging is primarily for making online money. Blogging makes you a responsible person, responsible for what you write. When you assume responsibility others start noticing you.

The responsibility as I mentioned above changed my priority from making money to write more better and useful content. Of course having own blog has many advantages than writing for others and those are already talked by many other bloggers. My stressing point is 'how a blog makes us more socially responsible and drive us towards higher personal goals.

All of us know that spoken words have power and it is manifested scientifically in hypnotism. Written words are sharper than swords. With a blog, we are warriors with responsibility. It gives total freedom on what you want to say to the world. When you read the comments made by your visitors you learn new things. In turn, when you research and study to give reply to the comments, you learn new things. Both reading comments and replying to comments open up your world of new knowledge, that may lead to another blog post.

Writing for own blog and writing for others have their advantages and disadvantages. In this post we saw some important advantages of own blogs such as;

I am not a good writer, but I have good passion to write and improve my writing skills. I try to improve my writing skills by writing and reading. I have plan to join a freelance writing course too in the coming summer. Hope that will further provide some more skills to write. Writing is a skill and we need to know the basic underlying principles to create good content. Language is the tool of a successful writers. They know how, when and where to use it.

As I have written earlier also, blogs give reputation and at the same time provide some passive money. If you start getting visitors to your blog, you will make money from advertisements. At first you may feel tired writing blogs and having nobody to read. Probably for a few months, you will be the only visitor of your blog. It is discouraging, but keep your spirit in air and go on.

Are you desperate to make extra money?

What I want to stress is having feeling for making extra money is quite normal. It is not at all a desperate feeling. Also it is not a sign of a desperate money monger. We need to look for all possible ways to make extra money.

Mobile phones are the widely used electronic equipment. Mobile phones do not demand high skills from users. Literally, anybody who can talk can use a mobile phone. Compared with a land phone, a mobile phone is more convenient since it can be carried away with the user.

Such discussion forums helps users gain knowledge in many areas of life. By participating in discussions on such forums, you can make friends from around the world, gain knowledge, open new opportunities for business, generate ideas, share your views and opinions and at the same time make a small money.

While doing online searches we come across sites that promise potential income from online activities. Some of them propose blogging as a source of online income. Is it really true? Blogging can generate money. That is true. My own experience is not different.

Most people start blogging for fun, as a hobby or to just use extra time constructively. They are not bothered about making money out of what they do. It is possible to use blogs to generate a passive income. Generating money from blogging is a win-win strategy.

Probably that amount will be dream for everybody. Even if we can make that amount in one year from our online activities, that is worth.

If you have a favorite subject and feels that you can generate original contents, blogging must be your choice to make money from your online activities. Now a days there are so many online writing jobs opportunities in the internet. It is advisable to write for your own blog than writing for somebody else's. By writing for your own blogs, you will create a public image that will help build your credibility online which will later translate in to money.
